SUNDAY 5th April,
2009

Holy Week is the most sacred time for us as followers
of Christ. It is the week when Lenten penance should
be exercised in a special way by taking time personally,
as a family, and in the parish community to journey
with Jesus into his death on the Cross, and beyond.
The stages of his journey are: Palm Sunday: from being
celebrated to being forgotten; Holy Thursday: from
giving himself to his disciples in the Eucharist to
being denied by them; Good Friday: from surrendering
himself to God’s will, to being abandoned even
by God in death; Holy Saturday: from complete emptiness
in death to new life. During Holy Week we journey
through all these stages with Jesus so that he may
bring us new life and hope.
